CORNER

You investigate a darkened corner of the room, curious as to what might be lurking in the shadows. Hiding behind a dusty piece of furniture you find two frightened house-elves! You study them closely. Your old academy had phased out house-elf staff ages ago.

“Please, master Erudia, don’t reports us.”
“S..S…See nothing! See no magic fight!”

The elves seem rattled by something, and you insist on an explanation.

“We are cleaning elves, we are, master Erudia. Was cleaning, and heard a noise!”
“Fizzle, crack, plop!”
“Then, young master Shoehorn was on the floor!”
“Dead!”
“Not dead, the young master sleeps.”
“Dead sleep!”
“Powerful magic, it is.”
“Innocent, we are.”
“Yes, we are innocent. Elves can do no harm to masters.”
“It’s the rules!”
“Yes, it’s the rules.”

The elves nod enthusiastically and start to grin, seemingly pleased with having pleaded their case successfully. You narrow your eyes suspiciously, and the two house-elves straighten back up.

“Please, master Erudia! Don’t reports us. We will share a secret.”

“When the magic happened, this slid here across the floor. I picked it up, of course, to… to…”
“To give it to master!”
“Yes, to give it to master Erudia!”
