HATSTAND

In the corner is a hatstand, with two hats keeping each other company upon it. Though both black, that’s where the similarities end. One is what you’ve read referred to as a “fascinator”, less hat and more statement piece. This one in particular is a tiny black cap of tulle and tiny pearls dominated by great strands of glossy black feathers. The other hat could almost be overlooked in comparison. It’s a plain black cloche with a simple black netting veil, obviously part of a mourning ensemble.
