PHONE

Ah yes, a cordless landline phone. The precursor to the cellphone. Once ubiquitous, these are a rare sight these days. No touchscreen, no applications or fancy bells-&-whistles, just buttons and a barely readable display. You go to inspect the receiver when it suddenly starts to ring.

You decide to call the police to get an update on their arrival:

“We have two units en route to your location, but the storm is complicating their ingress into your neighborhood. Please be patient and try not to interfere with the crime scene.”
