It’s an old cordless landline phone. You can use it to make calls to anywhere in your area code, but if you need to call someone further away, you’re pretty sure it might cost you. You go to pick up the receiver when it suddenly starts ringing!
You decide to call the police to get an update on their arrival:
“We have two units en route to your location, but the storm is complicating their ingress into your neighborhood. Please be patient and try not to interfere with the crime scene.”
