A large bookcase looms before you full of thick, intimidating books. You’re reminded of a traumatizing experience you had as a child being lost in the basement of the local library. You shake off the sudden fear and stare at the shelves. There are some strange books on the top shelf, and a book has fallen onto the floor as well.
There are lots of books on this shelf, and something doesn’t seem quite right about them.
You find this book on the floor. It’s entitled, “My Aching Breaking Heart”. It hurts a bit, but you manage to read the synopsis on the back. “Bethany thought she had it all: a successful and fulfilling career, a cozy cafe right around the corner, and an affair with the love of her life, Caspian Arnatello. But when Caspian decides to tell her husband the truth, Bethany must come to a decision that could prove fatal to her love life.” Ugh. When you go to put the book back, something falls out.
It’s a photo of Principal Roy and the school Counselor, Mrs. Marcott. The photo has been torn in two, right down the middle.
