Mrs. Marcott wasn’t at the school ten years ago when you graduated. As a matter of fact, she was also graduating high school in a different part of the country, driven to fulfill her dream! She decided long ago that she wanted to dedicate her life to being a counselor and helping students, much like her own counselor from Middle School who helped her get over her first breakup with a boy named Tim. Once in High School, she made best friends with the counselor there who helped her get over Jason, Bentley, Isabelle, Tim (again), and finally Jake, and that was just freshman year! Skipping ahead a bit, Mrs. Marcott found herself with a degree in hand and took the first counseling job she could find, a small and cheerful place called Valley View High! After an amicable divorce from her college sweetheart, she soon found herself remarried to a local mechanic. Perhaps it’s her bountiful experience with personal problems that make her such a good counselor to the students, who regularly sing her praises, but you’ve heard rumors that she’s actually up for termination. Allegedly, she had been having an affair with another worker at the school, and with the Superintendent keeping such a watchful eye on Valley View High, it might have made sense for Principle Roy to cut her loose to avoid a scandal.

Seated on the bed, Mrs. Marcott stares blankly at the wall. You manage to grab her attention, and she slowly turns and focuses on you.

“Why is everyone dying?! Can’t you stop this murderer?! Can’t you help me!? You can sneak me out of here, right? I don’t want to be here anymore. I can’t really remember what happened, it’s all such a blur! Vice Principal Alden was telling everyone how excited he was to let Principal Roy know that he had finally figured out how to access their shared folder on the school cloud, but no one was listening. Strangely, he was talking as if he didn’t know that Principal Roy was dead. Perhaps he was in shock? I was sitting here, right here on this bed, when the power went out. I heard someone grab the lamp from the table and I closed my eyes and started screaming, expecting at any moment to suffer the same fate as the Principal! When I opened my eyes, the others were turning on their phone flashlights and Vice Principal Alden was dead on the floor, it was horrific!”

“Oh, well, it’s true that we were having an affair – of sorts. He wanted to tell my husband, to come clean about the whole ordeal, but I wouldn’t let him. It would ruin his career! So, we had just agreed to end our relationship, just before the guests started arriving. It was amicable. It was for the best.”
