Mrs. Marcott wasn’t at the school ten years ago when you graduated. As a matter of fact, she was also graduating high school in a different part of the country, driven to fulfill her dream! She decided long ago that she wanted to dedicate her life to being a counselor and helping students, much like her own counselor from Middle School who helped her get over her first breakup with a boy named Tim. Once in High School, she made best friends with the counselor there who helped her get over Jason, Bentley, Isabelle, Tim (again), and finally Jake, and that was just freshman year! Skipping ahead a bit, Mrs. Marcott found herself with a degree in hand and took the first counseling job she could find, a small and cheerful place called Valley View High! After an amicable divorce from her college sweetheart, she soon found herself remarried to a local mechanic. Perhaps it’s her bountiful experience with personal problems that make her such a good counselor to the students, who regularly sing her praises, but you’ve heard rumors that she’s actually up for termination. Allegedly, she’s been having an affair with another worker at the school, and with the Superintendent keeping such a watchful eye on Valley View High, it might make sense for Principle Roy to cut her loose to avoid a scandal.
Mrs. Marcott’s face is puffy from crying. She adjusts her collar and tries to stay composed, but her hands are trembling.
“Oh, hello. I’m so sorry, this is all terribly disturbing. I’m admittedly frightened, aren’t you? Of course not, someone strong like you probably has nothing to fear. I’m glad you’re here, I already feel safer. This is not something anyone should ever have to see, and if you need someone to talk to later, I’ll be available. What happened? I wish I could say. I was the first to arrive, but after briefly chatting with Principal Roy, I started to feel a bit sick. The doorbell rang, and the Principal said I could use his bedroom bathroom for privacy. Once in the bathroom, I could hear the other guests arriving, chatting and such. I guess I was in there for several minutes. Just as I was starting to feel better, I heard a crash and what sounded like the Principal grunting. I quickly ran back out of the bedroom and there he was, dead on the floor! I screamed, and suddenly everyone was there! I have no idea who could have done it!“
