A large bookcase towers over you, full of books containing magic, legends, love, ghouls, and various other things that you’ve never had time for. It must be nice to be able to waste so much time lost in fictional worlds, but unfortunately people like you always have something that needs taking care of. A couple of things seem to warrant a closer look: There are some strange books on the top shelf, and a book has fallen onto the floor as well.
Several books line this shelf, and something doesn’t seem quite right about them.
You accidentally kick something with your foot. Oh, it’s a book! It must have fallen from the shelf. You pick it up and read the title, “My Aching Breaking Heart”. Ugh, this will be a treat. For the sake of curiosity, you flip to the back and read the synopsis. “Bethany thought she had it all: a successful and fulfilling career, a cozy cafe right around the corner, and an affair with the love of her life, Caspian Arnatello. But when Caspian decides to tell her husband the truth, Bethany must come to a decision that could prove fatal to her love life.” Wow. Just wow. You go to place the book back on the shelf when something falls out.
