OWLBEAR RUG
Scanning the tavern before you, it’s little surprise that your focus falls on a massive rug in the center of the room. The impressive rug is made from the pelt of an owlbear, a fearsome creature known for its razorlike claws, powerful beak, and ferocious temperament. The creature, when alive, must have been a harrowing foe indeed, as its spread pelt easily covers a large portion of the room. The fur is thick and shaggy, shot through with insulating downy feathers, giving it a rough, almost unkempt appearance.
The owlbear’s broad head is still attached to the rug, its beak closed, hiding what you know to be sharp teeth and an insatiable gullet. The glass eyes of the rug seem to follow you as you approach, and the owlbear’s arms are posed in such a way that its vestigial wing membranes are discernible. The claws of the owlbear are also visible, their sharp tips protruding from the fur.
