The cork board is filled with various announcements, notices, and job postings written on parchment and pinned to the board. It’s made of rough wood and looks worn and weathered from years of use. Behind the cork board you notice what appears to be a closet.
As you examine the cork board, you notice a wide variety of postings, ranging from requests for adventurers to recover lost belongings to upcoming events in the area. Some of the postings catch your eye, such as a call for the quiet recovery of a misplaced personal item and a notice from a wizard seeking rare components for a powerful spell. A torn wanted poster grabs your attention as well:
As you approach the closet, the strange scratching noises stop. The closet door appears to be made of wood and is set into the wall. Only a few feet tall, it has a simple brass knob which you can try opening here.
The door suddenly springs open, nearly knocking you off balance! A strange creature stares menacingly at you, its piercing eyes glowing in the dim light. Its sleek fur is long and brown. It’s wearing some sort of collar.
You dive at the creature, trusting your agility and quick hands to snatch the creature from its perch. Alarmingly, the creature dodges your attempt and escapes into the inn, taking flight! You give chase to the flying feline beast, but it remains out of reach, swooping around the dragon skull high above. You grab an abandoned cloak from a nearby chair and whip it towards the creature, narrowly missing netting it! It lets out an eerie shriek, then dives towards you, slipping between your legs before you can react and then back into the closet, with the door slamming shut behind it!
