Your foot catches a scattering of papers as you’re looking around. You glance down and notice the papers seem to be various crayon drawings.
You kneel down and scoop up the closest drawing. You notice the scrawled ELSIE on it and can’t help but smile as you look it over. There’s a scribbling of a happy little stick figure girl in a green dress, which must be Elsie. With her are the rest of her stick figure family, Vera on the left in a gown and dramatic hat, a boy in one of those old newsboy caps, then Elsie, then the tall figure of Charles McDermott. They’re all holding hands and smiling. You wonder if they really were as happy as Elsie drew them at one point.
