GRANDFATHER CLOCK

A massive grandfather clock, stunning in its detail, looms before you. As you lean in to inspect the fine craftsmanship, you’re struck by how loud and clearly you can hear the swing and ticking of a hidden pendulum somewhere inside. The front of the clock body is decorated with the embossment of a staircase winding towards a village. For some reason, you can’t get it to open. The face of the clock has no hands, merely displaying the hours of the day despite the audible ticking of the pendulum within. Tucked behind the clock face you spot a small object wrapped in green cloth. If you had a key, you could unlock the clock face to investigate.
