GRANDFATHER CLOCK

An imposing grandfather clock looms over you. Even over the mysterious sounds of the house around you, you can hear the ominous sway and click of a hidden pendulum. The front of the clock is decorated with the embossment of a staircase entering a village. For some reason, you can’t get it to open. The face of the clock has no hands, merely displaying the hours of the day despite the obvious ticking of the inner pendulum. Behind the face, you see something small wrapped in a green cloth. If you had a key, you could unlock the clock face to investigate.
