GRANDFATHER CLOCK

A tall, foreboding grandfather clock towers over you. You listen closely, and can hear the steady yet haunting swing of the pendulum hidden inside the body of the elderly timepiece. The front of the clock is decorated with the embossment of a staircase entering a village. For some reason, you can’t get it to open. The face of the clock has no hands, merely displaying the hours of the day despite the audible ticking of the pendulum within. Inside, you see something small wrapped in a green cloth. If you had a key, you could unlock the clock face to investigate.
