TROPHY CASE

The trophy case looms in the darkness. Too bad they don’t give trophies for skipping school, or cheating on exams. The truth is, you skipped school because there were better things to do, and you cheated on exams because that was more efficient than memorizing info that you’d never need to use again. Some people just don’t see the bigger picture, and you guess trophies make them feel better.

Suddenly, a thunderous boom shakes the foundations of the house, and lightning illuminates the room. Briefly, as the trophies shimmer in the light, you see several reflections of yourself staring back. The rain picks up outside, and the wind shrieks an eerie howl.
